Club Meetings
We gather on the third Tuesday of every month — to learn something new, swap a few rocks, and welcome new faces. Everyone’s invited.
Third Tuesday of the month · 7:00 PM
No meeting in December — we take the month off for the holidays.
If Wake County public schools close for inclement weather, the meeting is cancelled.
Where we meet
Find us at the Powell Drive Community Center in southwest Raleigh.
Plenty of reasons to join us
Meetings are the easiest way to get to know the club. Here are a few of the reasons members keep coming back.
A typical meeting
Part program, part social hour — here’s what a month might include.
-
Guest presentations
Talks from professional geologists, astronomers, and professors.
-
Birthday announcements
Members share their own stories from a lifetime of rockhounding.
-
Annual Show grab bags
Preparing grab bags for the club’s Annual Gem & Mineral Show.
-
August Ice Cream Social
A summer get-together — the club’s most relaxed meeting of the year.
-
November Officer Elections
Members vote on the club officers who’ll lead the year ahead.
New here? Come say hello.
You don’t need to be a member to visit a meeting — but once you’ve met the club, you might want to be.
